Some individuals come to therapy because they have been struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and/or addiction that have impacted their lives in ways that have become unmanageable. Others may be going through phase of life changes, such as divorce, becoming new parents, retirement, or job changes that have left them feeling stressed and overwhelmed. I will help you address these issues with various evidence-based treatment modalities in an environment that is safe and non-judgmental, so that you can begin to live a more meaningful and purposeful life.
Do you feel that your marriage or relationship is at an impasse and both individuals are on the verge of giving up on each other? I work with couples by examining their unhealthy communication patterns and dialogues that often break down the emotional connectedness that is necessary for a thriving relationship and rebuild those negative interactions with healthy communication skills in a safe, mediated environment.
I work with families from a Systems Therapy approach using combinations of different modalities such as, but is not limited to, Bowen Family Systems Therapy (BFST) to address issues such as family discord and disconnect and examine family dynamics, differentiation of self, fusion, or emotional cutoff that keep them in an unhealthy family system. Structural Family Therapy may also be used to address power struggles within the family structure. The family unit is the client, and I examine and explore how family members interact with one another at a systemic level to determine where change can happen to improve family relationships.
With the ever-increasing use of online dating to meet potential partners, the struggle to determine whether your dating outcome is a result of your beliefs, perceptions of self, and/or values is real and can be confusing. Dating is a difficult process, and you are NOT alone. I will help you explore issues such as self-esteem, communication patterns, existing beliefs about relationships due to previous experiences and family of origin (FOO) (learned perceptions about self from childhood experiences), so that you can present the best version of who you are in the dating world.
I have eight years of extensive experience working with those suffering from drug addiction. I will explore and process with you your core issues to bring insight into your unhealthy coping mechanisms, and replace them with healthy coping skills. Often times, addiction is co-morbid and I will be working with you on your dual diagnosis, such as symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, and feelings of shame and guilt.
Due to Covid-19, I am currently providing telehealth sessions online or via telephone only. You will be experiencing therapy in the comfort of your own home.
